I’ve done #MaySketchaDay a couple times in years past and I usually come out of it a better artist, sometimes with a few sketches that I want to take to finish, and very tired. It’s quite a grind to be that consistent with sketching, but it’s extremely rewarding too. If you’re interested, I’d highly suggest diving in.
I’ve got a lot of ideas for The Sin of Man that I want to explore this month. With all of the figure studies I’ve done in the past couple years, I want to see what possibilities have opened for me with new subject matter.
Study from Rachel Bradley’s Dryad reference.
A bunch of new figure studies, mostly using some reference from Reference.Pictures. Also a couple studies of Rachel Bradley. These are all going to be used for some tutorial content on how I learned to paint figures better. Hoping it helps some other people in their own figure painting journeys.
Just a painting from our Figure Drawing: Warrior reference pack.
Study of Natasha from the dramatic figure lighting reference pack.
I’m working on some figure painting tutorial content and I needed to record some new studies for that. Here’s the first of those which I painted with some reference of Liz from Reference.Pictures.
